Life is so very strange!

This blog was supposed to be just about my art but I keep getting distracted. But then art is about life so the more we experience the more passion we put into our art.! Am I not right??


Well a very strange thing happened Friday before last and it has taken me this long to get back to the computer to tell you all. I rescued a chick!! Yes having rescued in all six cats and two dogs now it is a chick. It, not sure whether it is a he or she, is so sweet, it is walking onto my hand when I go with the food.

Here she is, isn't she sweet!!

We managed to find her an old very large bird cage that had been given to us by friends and put her in, initially in our spare room. When we went to check that she was ok she was out of the cage - too small at the moment to keep behind bars!! So she is still in the spare room causing absolute havoc but having so much fun and will have to stay in there until she grows and we can then put her and cage outside in the fresh air.

Moving on, we have been having such amazing weather at the moment it was all the more surprising when we were hit with tornadoes on Thursday, absolute devastation across the island. I was one of the lucky ones, I was up on one of the mountains visiting friends who live right at the top of one of the smaller ones. My husband rang to make sure I had got there alright, when I asked, he said it was horrendous, it was pitch black, raining like a sheet of water and the wind was unbelievable, he said it was like being under a plane, a very loud droaning sort of sound. Our trees, in very large pots, were thrown over, our awning at the front of the flat was lifted and twisted before being thrown back down again, and we were lucky compared to the damaged that others experienced. It was quite bizarre from up on the mountain because although we could see the huge black and the lightning flashing constantly and even the sound of the wind by the time it decided to come up to where we were the wind was strong but not frightening, the clouds were white and the rain was quite heavy but nothing like those in the valley below along the coast had experienced. The next day was just another sunny day on Mallorca and apart from the devastation around you would never have believed it had happened.

Well that's it for now need to go and reboot the computers at our videoclub and get the shopping, how mundane is that - someone's got to do it!!!



Will keep you posted on the chick's progress, oh we have name 'her' Henrietta - cop out really then we have the option of Henry or Henrietta!!
